My Notebook is a bi-weekly blog post series of inspiration – from me to you! I share my favorites – things found on social media, blogs, stores, and more. Content can be newly published on Instagram or an oldie dug up from Pinterest. Anything goes!

What I’m Loving Right Now

  • Instant Pot – Last weekend I bought an Instant Pot pressure cooker. It’s been on my wishlist for some time, and Kohl’s had a really great deal that I couldn’t pass up. I am so impressed by how quick meals cook and how easy it is to throw everything into just one pot. The recipe for crack chicken (above) is by far the best meal I’ve made in my Instant Pot so far. It’s minimal ingredients and so savory!
  • Venmo – My coworkers introduced me to Venmo last year! It’s similar to PayPal, but doesn’t charge any fees and is very easy to use. Venmo makes it easy for paying friends and family when cash isn’t an option. You just go into the app and send what you need to pay. It’s that simple!
  • Designated Survivor – I’ve been binge watching Designated Survivor on Hulu for the last week. I wasn’t too sure that I was going to enjoy it, but it’s pretty good. The new season starts on ABC on September 27th.
  • Acorns – In the last month I’ve already invested $143 just from automatic roundups using Acorns. There is a $1 per month fee to use the service, but the money I’ve been able to save in just one month makes it worth the small fee. I can invest additional money or withdraw money at any time. I love the simplicity of being able to save and invest without thinking about it. I currently use the automated investing option that does the transferring for me. There is an option to manually choose what you want to invest from each purchase via the app or website, too. If you sign up for Acorns using my referral link, you and I will both receive a $5 bonus.
